Strategy #1:
Very straightforward. Use the aircraft hanger in the mountain as a shortcut.Strategy #2:
Since there's a long straight shot here, the jet is easily a little faster than the helicopters. Use the R-button speed boost off the starting line to get up to speed quickly. Oddly enough, it seems to travel faster while strafing (hold L and left or right) than it does just going straight. So once you're through the aircraft hanger shortcut, aim to the right of the goal and strafe left so that you're still actually heading right towards it. Yes, it's about as silly as it sounds.
