Strategy #1:

Always jump before throwing stuff, you get a little bit more height out of it. Don't throw at buildings, if it lands on the roof you lose that air time. Don't bother picking up cars unless they come within reach by themselves. Don't throw in the direction of nearby cars, it will target the car instead of throwing the item high. Start by turning right and make your way south picking off trees, light poles, bus stops, etc. Turn left at the second intersection and keep going until time runs out.

Strategy #2:

The building straight ahead of you seems to be one of the tallest ones around. Fly up to the top and throw off all the A/C units and whatnot. Fly away from the building and fly right back to make them reappear so you can throw them off again. Repeat until time runs out.

Strategy #3:

Alternatively, fly east (straight ahead from start) and go to the right of the tallest building and over to the rooftop above the "Dice" sign. I tested it, additional height beyond this does not give you additional points for stuff thrown off, the objects pass out of your sphere of vision first. Throw off the satellite dish and A/C units. Then fly east again to the building across the street and throw off the A/C units there. Fly back west to the "Dice" roof and repeat until time runs out.
