Strategy #1:

Very straightforward. Vehicles are worth more points than objects, so concentrate on them. The intersection you start near has some vehicle spawn points near it, if you move back and forth across the intersection while destroying them you should get a steady stream of things to blow up.

Strategy #2:

The Stealth Helicopter seems to be among the good vehicles to use. Turning around in a copter is slow, so just keep going around the block moving forward. Plow through trees and light posts whenever it's convenient for extra points. Especially concentrate on high value targets like tanks and helicopters.
